State Requirements

Indiana real estate licensees like you encounter many unique challenges as you work with buyers and sellers to complete successful transactions. This course will help you develop practical skills based on the knowledge you gained in your pre-license coursework. Scenarios and activities will give you plenty of opportunity to practice the skills you’ll learn in the course.

New Indiana licensees are required to complete commission set coursework during their first two years of licensure: 30 hours post license education to include six hours on real estate transactions, six hours on financing, 10 hours on business planning, sales, and marketing, five hours on negotiation and counseling skills, one hour on fair housing and diversity, and two hours on construction.

This course fulfills the 30-hour requirement per 876 Indiana Administrative Code 7-4-2, Postlicensing education required.

Course highlights include:

  • Unauthorized practice of law and how to avoid it

  • Elements of a valid contract, contract formation, and contractual disputes

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to the state. We will report your course to the state upon completion.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Final Exam: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 75% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass.

Seat Time: It is required that all students spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for you.
