The Texas Analysis of Findings and Reporting Module helps prepare students for successfully completing the inspector examination for licensure. This 20-hour pre-licensing course will specifically focus on ways inspectors can inform and describe issues to their clients. Successful completion of this module will help inspectors meet their licensing education requirements.

To provide competent home inspection services, licensed home inspectors must understand the systems and components that must be inspected and provide clients with an effective report on the inspector’s findings, including hazardous situations requiring immediate corrective action to prevent possible injury or death of the home’s occupants. Throughout this course, inspectors will learn ways they can inform and describe issues to their clients by observing common issues found in various systems, such as the:

  • Exterior
  • Roofing

  • Electrical

Course highlights include:

  • Recalling how to inform the client of what was inspected and the methodologies used
  • Describing building systems and components by their distinguishing characteristics (e.g., purpose, type, size, location)
  • Recognizing the type of systems and the location of system components
  • Identifying the common methods used to inspect specific components
