Description
State Requirements

This 30-hour applied economics course equips professionals with practical economic tools to make smarter, more confident decisions in real-world settings. Designed for those who want to understand how markets actually work—not just theory—the course connects core microeconomic principles directly to pricing, budgeting, investment, staffing, and strategic planning decisions.

Learners explore how supply and demand, costs, margins, inflation, labor markets, and market structures influence profitability and risk, while also examining consumer behavior, game theory, and competitive strategy. Special attention is given to opportunity cost, marginal thinking, credit and interest rates, purchasing power, and the economic forces shaping different business models.

Throughout the course, “Economics in Action” scenarios tie concepts together with practical examples and inquiry-based questions that reinforce learning and application. By the end of the course, participants will be better prepared to interpret economic signals, anticipate market changes, allocate scarce resources effectively, and apply economic reasoning to everyday business decisions across industries.
