This package is designed to provide you with the 96 hours of instruction required to be eligible for a Nebraska Salesperson license.  

These courses prepare you for the Nebraska state licensing exam and provide the practical business knowledge and foundation necessary to be a successful real estate Salesperson salesperson in Nebraska

Package Content:
NE Professional Practice and Standards

This course provides the 6 clock hours in Professional Practice and Standards (Course 0003) required of applicants for real estate licensure in Nebraska. The course addresses ethics and professional conduct to help new Licensees gain competency in handling real estate transactions.  Topics include agency duties and responsibilities, agency ethics and professionalism, fair housing issues, liability issues, and guidelines for avoiding misrepresentation.

NE Real Estate Principles and Practices

This course provides 30 hours of instruction in principles of real estate, required of all applicants for a salesperson's license in Nebraska. The course prepares learners for the Nebraska licensing exam and provides the real estate practice knowledge and foundation necessary to be a successful real estate salesperson.

Topics include real property ownership, land use controls and restrictions, deeds and title transfer, real estate contracts, real estate agency, estimating value, real estate practice, property disclosures, real estate financing, real estate math, real estate license laws and rules, and prohibited acts in real estate. 

Nebraska 30-Hour Real Estate Finance (Course 0042R)

This course offers 30 hours of financial topics directly applicable to students obtaining their real estate license in Nebraska. Covered topics include loan terms, types and issues; government loan programs; defaults and foreclosures; instruments used in real estate financing; and government influence on financing.

Course highlights include:

  • A discussion of the evolution of mortgage lending
  • A look at how real estate impacts the economy
  • An overview of federal legislation affecting real estate and mortgages
  • An in-depth look at the role HUD, FHA and VA play in real estate financing
  • A review of primary and secondary market lenders
  • A look at the lending process from start to finish
  • A compare-and-contrast discussion of mortgages and deeds of trust, their common clauses and provisions, and applicable foreclosure rules
  • An overview of the subprime market, predatory lending, and mortgage fraud
  • A review of commercial and agricultural loans
  • A look at specialty loan products including piggyback, equity loans, and participation agreements, and creative financing including assumptions, modifications and seller financing
  • An evaluation of how environmental issues affect land value
  • Workshop-based activities for calculating principal, interest, taxes, and insurance

Nebraska License Law (Course 0047R)

This course provides 30 hours of instruction in Nebraska license law, required of all applicants for a salesperson’s license in Nebraska. The course prepares learners for the Nebraska licensing exam and provides the real estate practice knowledge and foundation necessary to be a successful real estate salesperson.

After completing this course, the learner will be able to interpret real estate law and demonstrate good practice in business transactions. Topics include licensing requirements, fair housing, the Nebraska Real Estate License Act, Nebraska real estate rules and regulations, trust accounts, prohibited practices, agency, and other Nebraska real estate laws.

State Requirements For Nebraska

Hours Required by the State: 96 hours

  • 30-Hour Real Estate Principles and Practices Course (#0040)
  • 30-Hour Nebraska Real Estate License Law Course (0047R)
  • 30-Hour approved prelicense course

Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PearsonVue. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

The CE Shop’s Offering: 96 hours

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to the state. We will report your course to the state upon completion.

Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account.

The CE Shop’s Pre-Licensing courses expire six months after the date of purchase. Each student will be granted a one-month extension at no charge, to be applied immediately after the initial six-month term. For any reactivation or extension of the course after the seventh month, The CE Shop will charge the student 20% of the current retail price of the course for each 30-day extension or partial 30-day extension in the event that the course finally terminates before the end of the final 30-day extension. Students may also elect to re-enroll for 50% of the current retail price of the course, if the course has hit the year expiration or the student is at the 7 month mark and wants to repurchase and restart the course and enrollment. Extensions or reactivations cannot be granted beyond 12 months from the purchase of the course since, in all events, the course terminates 12 months after purchase.

Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.

Final Exam: Final exams must be passed with a minimum of 70%.
