Florida Broker Pre-Licensing How to Get Your Florida Real Estate License
Learn the Steps To Become a Real Estate Broker In Florida
Getting a Brokers license might seem a bit daunting, but we’re here to guide you through the process. Below we cover the steps you’ll need to take before upgrading your Sales Associate license in Florida. Buy your Florida Pre-Licensing »Prerequisites
- Be at least eighteen years of age
- Have a valid United States social security number
- Have been registered as an active licensed Sales Associate for at least 24 months in the preceding 5 years.

Complete 72 Hours of approved Florida Broker Pre-Licensing education
Complete the 72 hours of approved Broker Pre-Licensing education as required by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

Pass the course final exams
After you complete all the course materials and pass the practice exam, you must pass a course final exam. The minimum passing score is 70%.

Pass the state licensing Broker exam
Next, you’ll need to pass the Florida Real Estate Broker Licensing Exam. Pearson VUE administers the licensing exam. This test consists of two portions, covering both state and national requirements. Pass Background Check
Before you become licensed as a Broker, the state will need to run a background check and take your fingerprints. It’s highly recommended that you submit your fingerprints at least 5 days prior to applying for your license. Find more information on submitting your fingerprints here.

Complete the real estate application
When you’ve passed the exam and completed everything on the Florida DPBR checklist, you can complete the Florida Broker application.
