This 15-Hour National Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) Course satisfies The Appraisal Foundation’s education requirement and examines the ethical and performance standards that govern professional appraisal practice.Students explore the structure and application of USPAP, including the Rules, Standards, and core definitions that guide appraiser conduct, scope of work decisions, and the development and communication of credible appraisal opinions.
The course emphasizes how USPAP applies across appraisal disciplines, addresses common compliance risks, and supports public trust in valuation services.The current edition of USPAP and the USPAP Guidance and Reference Manual are used throughout the course to support interpretation, professional judgment, and real-world application of appraisal standards.
Hours Required by the State: 87 hours
*Beginning January 1, 2026, an 8-Hour Valuation Bias and Fair Housing Laws and Regulations course will be required for Qualifying Education when earning or upgrading a credential.
Note: All qualifying education must be completed within the 5-year period immediately preceding the date of application for an Apprentice Appraiser credential.
Licensing Exam: The licensing exam is administered by PearsonVUE. Registration for the state licensing exam is an entirely separate process from proctoring for your course final exam. For instructions to register for your state licensing exam and further information, please click here.

Reporting: The state requires course completions to be reported to the state. We will report your course to the state upon completion.
Expiration Date of Course: Course expiration dates vary by course. Each individual course will have an expiration date listed in your account. See Terms & Conditions for more details.
Certificates: Immediately upon course completions, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course certificate of completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your application to determine if you need to submit your certificate(s) of completion. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificate of completion will reflect this.
Proctored Final Exam: The state requires your final exam to be proctored. You’ll need to schedule an appointment with a proctor in advance. You can find full details of the proctoring process here. Upon passing the final course exam, you will be asked to sign an affidavit verifying your identity as the student who completed the course and the final course exam.
