How long does it take to get a Minnesota real estate license?
The time it takes to get your Minnesota real estate salesperson license depends on how long it takes to complete your Pre-Licensing education, take the licensing exam, and for your sponsoring broker to apply for your license.
How much does it cost to get a Minnesota real estate license?
The fixed fees associated with getting your Minnesota real estate salesperson license include $65.00 to take the licensing examination and $110.00 for the licensing fee. The cost to complete your Pre-Licensing education courses will depend on the education provider you choose. Check with your primary broker if other licensing fees apply.

How do I renew my Minnesota real estate license?
The term for a Minnesota real estate salesperson license is two years, expiring on June 30. To be eligible for renewal, you must complete 30 hours of Continuing Education (CE) courses. Once you’ve completed your CE requirements for the renewal period, it’s the responsibility of the primary broker at your real estate company to renew your license before June 30th of the applicable renewal year. Check with your primary broker for further information on the renewal process.
How do I apply to get my license after I pass the exam?
You don’t apply for your real estate salesperson license. Only a licensed primary broker can submit an application for a salesperson’s license. Check with your company’s primary broker on the application process.
