4 Steps Toward Getting Your Tennessee Broker License
Getting your upgraded license might seem a bit daunting, but we’re here to guide you through the process. Read on to learn the four steps you’ll need to take before upgrading your real estate license in Tennesee.
To be eligible, broker candidates must have held an ACTIVE license that meets one of these criteria, per the Tennessee Real Estate Commission:
- 24 months actively licensed, if licensed as an affiliate broker on or before May 12, 1988
- 36 months actively licensed, if licensed as an affiliate broker after May 12, 1988
- 24 months actively licensed, if the candidate has a baccalaureate degree with a major in real estate
Meet the minimum requirement as a licensed affiliate broker in the state of Tennessee.

Satisfactorily complete 120 hours of approved real estate education, including the 30-hour brokerage course.
