Your NAR Ethics Requirement

Complete Your Ethics Coursework Today

The National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) is America's largest trade association and a NAR membership signifies a real estate professional who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics. REALTOR® members must complete at least two and a half hours of ethics training every two years in order to make sure they are regularly performing in a professional and respectful manner. NAR’s Code of Ethics training cycle provides REALTORS® with a schedule for upcoming deadlines. In the current cycle, you have until the end of 2018 (12/31/18) to complete your ethics coursework.

The CE Shop offers three different courses to fulfill your NAR Code of Ethics requirement. Each of these 3-hour courses reviews NAR’s Standards of Practice articles, highlights pertinent changes, and offers important takeaways that you can apply to your day-to-day business dealings. These courses also provide tips for applying the Code’s principles and guidelines, a discussion on the benefits of mediation, and activities and examples to illustrate practical applications of any new information. All three of these courses meet the REALTOR® Code of Ethics training requirement but be sure to check with your local REALTOR® Association to make sure they will accept it as well.

You do not have to complete a Code of Ethics requirement if you are not a member of NAR, though it’s still a good idea to fit a Code of Ethics class into your coursework. Adhering to NAR’s Code proves to your clients that you are truly working in their best interests.
