How to Get Your Salesperson Real Estate License in Missouri

HOW TO GET YOUR MISSOURI LICENSE IN 5 STEPS

Becoming licensed may seem like a daunting undertaking at first, but we’ve demystified the process for you. Follow these simple steps to get started today!

1

Complete Pre-Licensing education.

For first time licensee candidates, two pre-licensing education courses must be completed. The first, a 48-hour salesperson course must be completed before you can take the Missouri real estate license exam. The second course is a 24-hour Real Estate Practice Course which must be taken after the first, but can be taken after the exam. The CE Shop offers these mandatory courses through its advanced web-based platform, designed exclusively for real estate professionals. *For licensed attorneys and those licensed in other jurisdictions, please click here to see additional examination and licensure eligibility requirements.

Each course combines the best of the classroom with the flexibility and convenience of online learning, and is taught using real-world scenarios, practical exercises, and examples relevant to today’s real estate industry. The CE Shop prepares you to successfully complete your licensing exam, while providing you with the knowledge you need to begin a promising real estate career.

2

Complete the course final exam.

After you complete all the course materials, meet the minimum time requirement, and pass the practice exam, there is a final exam. The passing score is 75%.

You do not need to take this in the presence of a proctor.

3

Schedule, take, and pass your licensing exam with Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. (AMP).

The Missouri Division of Professional Registration (DPR) Real Estate Commission contracts with AMP, a PSI company, to facilitate and administer the salesperson licensing exam. For more information, please see the AMP Missouri Candidate Handbook.

To get more information, you can call the Missouri Real Estate Commission at 573-751-2628. To begin the process, new applicants must register with the Missouri Automated Criminal History Site (MACHS).

5

Complete the Application for License.

Once the eligibility requirements are completed and licensing exam is passed, you may apply for your salesperson’s license. You must submit the completed application within six months of the date of your 48-hour pre-examination course completion. The application can be found on the DPR Real Estate Commission website.
