Are you ready to begin your new career as a Michigan real estate agent? The CE Shop has everything you need to get started and set up for success.

Hi, I’m Michael with The CE Shop, here to tell you that getting your Michigan real estate license is as easy as following these six steps.

Step 1: Education

First-time licensee candidates in Michigan are required to take 40 hours of Pre-Licensing education. These courses can be taken in person or online in a convenient do-at-your-own-pace format like the program offered by The CE Shop.

Step 2: The Course Final

After you complete all course materials and pass the practice exam, you must take a final exam. This exam is comprised of 110 questions and requires a minimum passing score of 70%.

Step 3: Pass Your Exam

Once you’ve passed your course final exam, you will next schedule, take, and pass your state licensing exam. The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs contracts with PSI to facilitate and administer the salesperson licensing exam. For more information, please see the PSI Candidate Information Bulletin for Michigan.

Step 4: Sponsor

To start a new career in Michigan real estate, you must have a broker sponsor you through the licensing process and to provide you with a launchpad for your new career. This broker will be your career and education mentor, and will provide you with an inside view of the day-to-day operations of being a real estate agent. It’s important to find a good fit when picking a broker to work with because it’s a key factor to becoming successful.

Step 5: Application

Once you’ve passed the licensing exam, you’ll next download and complete the application on Michigan’s LARA website. This website provides detailed instructions for completing the New Salesperson License Application.

Step 6: Your License

Once the application is approved, LARA will issue your new Michigan real estate salesperson license. With your new license, a great mentor, and the Michigan real estate knowledge gained from your Pre-Licensing education, you’re now ready to begin your new career.
