Dallas is the Perfect Place to Build a Real Estate Career
In 2019, the state of Texas had a GDP of $1.88 trillion. To put that in perspective, that’s more than Canada’s $1.73 trillion, Russia’s $1.64 trillion, and Saudi Arabia’s $779.29 billion. At the center of the Lone Star State’s behemoth economy? The city of Dallas, with a GDP well over $500B. Thus, it comes as no surprise that USA’s top real estate agent is Dallas-based HomesUSA owner and CEO Ben Caballero.
Confirmed by North Texas Real Estate Information Systems and the surrounding area’s National Association of REALTORS®, Caballero and his technology-based all-in-one sales platform sold a record 3,982 new homes in the Dallas area totaling $1.3 billion, or enough to secure his spot as the agent with the most annual home transactions in the Guinness Book of World Records.
"Texas is home to the world's greatest and most resilient housing market and is one of the strongest economies globally. Achieving this record volume in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area I call home gives me enormous satisfaction and pride. I also feel blessed being able to do something every day – helping builders,” Caballero told prnewswire.com.
In total, Caballero and his company sold a staggering 5,778 homes across the state of Texas worth a total $2.249 billion, making him the only real estate agent to exceed the $2 billion mark, a feat he’s now achieved twice.
Of course, it should be noted that these impressive figures were achieved pre-COVID19, but as we’ve mentioned in a previous blog, the city remains fundamentally one of the best real estate markets in the country. In the Walton Family Foundation’s most recent The Most Dynamic Metropolitans report, Dallas ranks #6 of all of the large metropolitan areas (defined as having a population of one million or more).
Could that mean that now is the time to start building a real estate career? Absolutely, and we’re not the only one who thinks so:
Bill Cawley is the chairman and CEO of Cawley Partners, one of Dallas’s lead developers and commercial real estate experts. In D Magazine, Bill wrote that, “Dallas is on the top of the list for every company that is considering relocation. There will be demand once we get through this.”
Now the only question that remains is, where will you be when that happens?
