Kyler Murray: Sometimes Good Things Come in Small Packages

The Commonality Between Kyler Murray & Luxtiny Reach Beyond Their Smaller-Than-Normal Sizes

Kyler Murray’s entrance into the NFL was not an easy and smooth transition from his Heisman Trophy-winning days in college football. Coming in at a staggering 5’ 10” and 256 lbs, Murray isn’t a genetic freak or especially intimidating. At the collegiate level, players with extraordinary talent don’t need to be the biggest, tallest, or strongest. Skill and talent can take college players to great heights, but in the NFL shortcomings like height can and will be exploited by great defenses.

Most great short quarterbacks before him like Drew Brees and Russell Wilson also met their fair share of criticism and complaints, only to silence them with their unique approaches to the game that many credit to their height.

Why Height Is Important But Not Required

Height is one of the most important physical traits that NFL teams today look for in a quarterback and other strategic positions. It comes as no surprise that the average height of a starting quarterback in the league is 6 feet 3 inches.

Another important consideration is how tall linemen are in today’s game. Most linemen are in the 6’ 5” to 6’ 7” range, and weigh upwards of 300 pounds. So it makes sense to draft taller quarterbacks who will be able to survey the field and release the ball to the receivers. What makes quarterbacks like Murray unique is that their height may be a hindrance within the pocket sitting behind giants of men, but this also serves the purpose of concealing the QB, allowing them to move outside of the pocket and use their agility and speed to their advantage.

Murray’s stats and performance from his rookie season clearly show his height has not hindered his performance.

Luxtiny Luxury Homes

What does Murray’s size have to do with real estate? We’re sure you’ve seen the rising trend of tiny homes, and the flexibility that their small size gives homeowners. Similarly, Murray’s size adds the flexibility and uniqueness it takes to become a champion NFL team. The Cardinals will need to work on their offensive scheme to take advantage of his strengths.

Luxtiny is a unique custom home builder based in Arizona that is pretty straight forward. They create stunning luxury tiny homes, with price points that no homeowner can ignore. Most of their tiny homes range between 160–399 sq ft, with an optional guest home up to 144 sq ft.

Home prices start at $59,000 depending on the size, upgrades, and other custom considerations. The company does offer options for extreme custom homes with prices upward of $100,000.

For homeowners who are looking for alternative ways to live, or even looking for a fun vacation home they can retreat to, luxury tiny homes from Luxtiny give homeowners creative solutions. The ability to customize the homes also helps homeowners feel like this home is truly theirs, not just another model home set on a cul-de-sac of similarity.

Just like with Murray, this goes to show that you can’t judge a book by its cover, and that good things can come in small packages.
