Georgia Real Estate Education: In-Person Vs. Online

by The CE Shop Team

Taking Online Georgia Real Estate Education Has Its Advantages

From breathtaking historic properties in Savannah to the quaint mountain cabins north of Atlanta, Georgia may be a wonderful place to live, but it’s an even better place to be a real estate agent. According to indeed.com, the average real estate agent in the Peach State makes $85,989 per year. What’s more, real estate agents are able to make their own schedule, directly benefit from their own hard work, and, most importantly, help others find property that enhances their lives. Sound good? We couldn’t agree more, but before you join the ranks of Georgia’s real estate elite there’s something you need to consider: how you’re going to complete your real estate education.

Every state plus Washington D.C., requires some form of formal education before issuing a real estate license. More specifically, the state of Georgia requires 75 credit hours of Pre-Licensing education, a passing grade on the state-issued exam, and completion of a background check. Even if you’re licensed in another state, Georgia requires 25 hours worth of coursework to issue a Georgia-specific license, and all agents, regardless of where they are in their career, are required to take 36 hours of coursework every four years to maintain it.

Needless to say, education is an important part of the industry and an agent’s career, but the good news is that you have the option to take those courses in-person at a traditional brick-and-mortar school or, better yet, with us online.

Now, each has its own pros and cons. Taking classes in-person gives you that peer to peer interaction that makes education a little more ‘social.’ Students also can get in-person feedback from instructors, which might favor those who aren’t too quick with a keyboard. However, it also means you’ll have to commute to a physical location, which can be inconvenient for those who live in rural areas or heavily congested parts of the city, and you’ll have to lug your books around.

As for everything else? Choosing online real estate education is the way to go. While we believe we’re the best choice, thanks largely to the fact that our platform plays nice with mobile devices, offers a purposeful curriculum, and that we provide a lot of support before, during, and after licensure, choosing to complete your education online is superior in many ways.

Real estate agents often enjoy flexibility on the job, and education should be that way too. When you complete lessons online, it’s on your time and at your pace. That’s especially helpful if you’re currently selling homes and renewing your license, or if you’re just getting started and are still making the transition from your last career.

Plus, with online courses, there’s no need to lug books with you everywhere you go, no need to use fuel driving in Atlanta’s grid-locked traffic, and no need to skip dinner with a significant other or miss a little-league game to make it to class on time. Did you move to a different part of the state that’s a little more country? Concerned with your own health and safety amidst the COVID-19 pandemic? Can’t remember what classes you took and when? No problems there when your education partner is online.

In short, choosing to satisfy your educational requirements online is a no-brainer. At The CE Shop, we do our best to bring you the highest quality education in the most efficient way possible because we know our success is based on yours.
