Ex-Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Elizabeth Wisdom Takes on the Real Estate World
Cheerleading is one of those sports where, when you take a closer look, it’s exceptionally difficult. Make no mistake, there’s a lot of hard work, dedication, and discipline that goes into those carefully choreographed performances. In fact, it’s a lot like being a real estate agent, which is why it was only natural that former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Elizabeth Wisdom would become a real estate professional.
Working currently as an agent for Allie Beth Allman & Associates, Wisdom’s experience is about as Texas as it gets. She was born in the well-known East Texas town of Tyler, attended Southern Methodist University, and eventually earned her spot cheering on the Cowboys. In an interview with Candysdirt.com, Wisdom marks that time in her life when she got to know Dallas and then some.
“Being a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader opened my eyes to what Dallas is all about and completely changed my life. Not only did I have the opportunity to cheer for America’s team, but travel abroad with the USO to entertain the men and women of our armed forces.”
Following her work cheering on America’s Team, she spent eight years as a landman (or in this case a landwoman) for an oil and gas operator. For those of you who aren’t from Texas, or never had the chance to get up close and personal with the oil business, a landman is the person that tracks down whoever owns the mineral rights to a particular piece of land then negotiates terms with the mineral rights owner on behalf of the oil and gas company. Think of it as being both a real estate agent and a private investigator.
Eventually, her friends and family encouraged her to think about a career in real estate. After all, she had the drive, the work ethic, and the skills. So why not reap all of the rewards? In 2015, that’s exactly what she did and, not surprisingly, it has been a great fit ever since.
“I decided this might be my calling in life. I love land, homes, staging, negotiating and most of all partnering with people to help them achieve their most emotional investment they will make in life…. their home,” Wisdom said in the aforementioned interview.
All we can say is good call, Elizabeth. And keep up the good work, now it’s our turn to cheer for you!
