A New YouTube Show Moves to the Mile High City
With a strong economy, world-class mountain recreation a short drive away, all of the major pro sports, and places like Red Rocks, Denver is undoubtedly one of the best places to live in the world, so it only makes sense that a real estate show would be shot right here in the Mile High City. The new show is called “The Listing Colorado”, and it profiles the challenges several buyers face when looking to secure a home in one of the country’s most robust real estate markets.
“We saw a real need for an engaging show that highlighted local stories about real estate in Colorado and we hope the show serves as a relevant resource for people interested in the real estate market here,” co-host Candice Brown-McElyea told Patch.com.
As of June 2020, the median home value in Denver is $465,466 which is 1.7% higher than it was last year and more than twice the $217,600 national average. Zillow forecasts that the market will see a 1.7% decline in the next year, however, the challenges remain the same.
The first episode, which can be viewed on YouTube, tells the story of a nurse who must sell her home in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak and follows what it’s like to then find a new one. Episode 2 continues the saga, with special interviews with local lenders like Ross Barrett of Guild Mortgage and professionals like Keller Williams DTC managing broker Kurt Bozarth.
“This is pretty great, I'm always looking for new 'HGTV' type shows to watch. I'll have to check it out since our market has been spreading out into Colorado,” said Meg P. in a comment about the show.
Of course, Brown-McElyea isn’t alone. Alongside her are co-producers Mathew Carman and Paul Joyner who have a combined 37 years’ worth of media and content creation experience. In other words, their work is not your average user-made YouTube video.
“Eventually we’d be interested in offering sponsored segments for builders, developers, REALTORS® and others involved in the real estate profession as well,” Brown-McElyea also told Patch.com.
