Tennessee State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
The CE Shop is an approved school in the state of Tennessee: Code/Approval Number: 1456
Every two (2) years, 16 clock hours of Real Estate Continuing Education is required.
· Brokers need to complete 16 hours of real estate continuing education every two (2) years, including a four (4) hours Commission prescribed core course. The 2009-2010 TREC Core needs to include each of the following three topic areas: TREC Law, Rule, Policy Update and Contracts and Supervision Responsibilities of Managing Brokers.
· Brokers initially licensed after 01/01/05, need to complete 120 hours of post-licensing during the first three (3) years of licensure. These 120 hours hours can consist of any TN REC approved continuing education (CE) courses including the ones listed in our TN catalog.
Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.
Real estate course completions are recorded with the Tennessee Real Estate Commission each business day. It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours.
Please enter your individual license number correctly and fully when prompted in the registration process to ensure the reporting of your hours takes place. Tennessee license numbers should be six (6) digits.
