Oklahoma State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education

The CE Shop is an approved school in Oklahoma: Code/Approval Number: 1394

Every three (3) years, 21 clock hours of Real Estate Continuing Education is required.

·         License renewal is due by the license anniversary date.

  • Oklahoma courses will expire 6 months after the order date, per Oklahoma rules. Courses must be completed before the expiration date in order to receive credit.

·         Licensees with an expiration of June 30th, 2005 and thereafter are required to take, each license term, twelve (12) required hours consisting of four (4) different core subjects as determined by Commission and nine (9) hours consisting of electives. Twelve (12) of the hours are to be from four (4) different Required Topics: Fair Housing (3 hours), Broker Relationships Act (3 hours), Hot Topic (3 hours) – to be determined annually, and Professional Conduct (3 hours). Please see catalog above or the courses listed below for options from the mandatory topics; all other courses listed in the catalog are elective hours.

o    Cracking the Code of Ethics (3 hours) of Professional Conduct (PSC) Required Topic

o    Diversity: Your Kaleidoscope of Clients (3 hours) of Hot Topic (HOT) Required Topic

o    Foreclosures Demystified  (3 hours) of Hot Topic (HOT) Required Topic

o    Going Green: The Environmental Movement in Real Estate (3 hours) of Hot Topic (HOT) Required Topic

o    Keeping it Honest: Understanding Real Estate & Mortgage Fraud (3 hours) of Hot Topic (HOT) Required Topic 

o    Oklahoma Broker Relationships Act (3 hours) of Broker Relationships Act (BRA) Required Topic

o    Short Sale and Foreclosure Risk Management (3 hours) of Hot Topic (HOT) Required Topic 

·         Provisional sales associates have separate & unique post-licensing requirements (45 hours) due prior to their first license expiration date and are not required to complete real estate continuing education such as found in our Oklahoma catalog. The CE Shop, Inc. currently does NOT offer this post-licensing course.

Any Broker who holds or has held a license type of Broker Manager (BM), Proprietor Broker (BP), or Branch Broker (BB) during any portion of their current license term shall be required to successfully complete the Broker in Charge course as approved by the Commission consisting of fifteen (15) clock hours, or its equivalent, as approved by the Commission, each license term beginning with those licenses that expire on June 30, 2012. The CE Shop, Inc. currently does NOT offer the Broker in Charge course. In addition, to complete the continuing education requirement of twenty-one (21) clock hours such broker shall complete at least two (2) of the four (4) required subject matter, equal to at least six (6) clock hours.

    • Any broker that lapsed or renewed inactive in their previous license term or current license term who applies for reinstatement or activation after June 30, 2012 and held in their previous or current license term the license type of Broker Manager (BM), Proprietor Broker (BP), or Branch Broker (BB) must complete the Broker in Charge course (The CE Shop, Inc. does not currently offer this Broker in Charge course) and two (2) of the four (4) required subject matter totaling six (6) hours prior to their license being reinstated active or reactivating.

Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of seven (7) years, should you need additional copies at a later time.  Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state.  Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.

Real estate course completions are recorded with the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission each business day.  It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours.

Please enter your individual license number correctly and fully when prompted in the registration process to ensure the reporting of your hours takes place. Oklahoma license numbers should be ten (10) digits and usually start with the year the license was issued.
