The CE Shop is an approved school in Ohio: Code/Approval Number: RECE.2007000670

Renewal Date: Every three (3) years by the licensee’s birthday

Hours required: 30 hours

Of the 30 hours of continuing education, all licensees must complete nine (9) hours of Required Core courses in the each of the following subjects:

  • Breaking Barriers: Fair Housing (3 hours) - Civil Rights/Liberties OR Diversity: Your Kaleidoscope of Clients (3 hours) - Civil Rights/Liberties, AND
  • Navigating Ohio Agency Law (3 hours) - Core Law, AND
  • Complying with the Canon: Ohio Real Estate Licensee Ethics (3 hours) - Canons of Ethics + meets NAR Quadrennial requirement OR Ohio Commercial Ethics (3 hours) - Canons of Ethics + meets NAR Quadrennial requirement

CE Shop Offering: 30 hours

Seat time: The Department of Commerce requires that all students participating in distance (online) learning spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. Our online course delivery system manages this requirement for our students.

ReportingYour course completion will be recorded with the Ohio Department of Commerce no later than the end of the following business day by The CE Shop. This process does not take the place of licensees renewing their license or providing their certificates of completion to the state. It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours. In addition to completions reported by The CE Shop, licensees themselves are required to submit copies of their certificates with their renewal and compliance forms to the state. Forms and certificates sent into the state must be postmarked no later than midnight of your birthday/renewal date.

Max hours in 24 hr period:  Ohio Real Estate Licensees are not allowed to complete more than 8 hours of courses in a 24 hour period. It is up to the licensee to monitor this and ensure they are not completing more than 8 total hours in a 24 hour period. The date the course is electronically signed is the date the course is completed. For example, if your certificate says you completed a course for 6 hours of CE on June 1st, then you have taken 6 of your allowed 8 hours on June 1st regardless if you’ve taken part of the course on May 31st. Course completion dates are recorded using Central Standard Time. Please note that the date on your certificates of completion will reflect this. The CE Shop is unable to alter the completion dates on your certificates of completion.Expiration date of course: Courses expire one year after the order date. 

Post Licensing: 10 hours of Post Licensing is required. The CE Shop does not offer Post Licensing in OH at this time.

Final Exams: Final exams must be passed with a 70% and may be taken as many times as necessary in order to pass. 

Certificates:  Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time.  Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.
