New York State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
The CE Shop is an approved school in New York.
School Code/Approval Number: New York issues individual course approval numbers listed next to each course.
Every two (2) years, 22.5 clock hours of Real Estate Continuing Education is required.
· Licenses must be renewed every two (2) years by the exact day of their license anniversary date.
· All students participating in distance (online) learning must spend a minimum amount of seat time engaged in the course content. The course system will track your participation time as well as count down the minimum time required. Distance learning seat time is calculated in the same way as it is for classroom courses (50 minutes per clock hour). Your course will not be counted as completed until the minimum time requirement has been met.
· Any real estate licensee who renews their license on or after July 1st, 2008 will be required to complete 22.5 hours of approved continuing education, three (3) hours of which must include fair housing. This new law does not apply to those licensees who are exempt from the continuing education requirement. Both of our current 22.5 hour bundles have this requirement included.
Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.
Please enter your individual license number correctly and fully when prompted in the registration process. New York license numbers begin with two (2) digits, followed by the first two (2) letters of your last name, followed by seven (7) more digits.
