New Mexico State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
All of the courses we offer in New Mexico have been approved by the NM Real Estate Commission. NM does not provide course approval numbers for their courses.
Every 3 years from the first date of licensure, thirty (30) hours of Continuing Education is required.
- Of those thirty (30) hours, eight (8) hours of mandatory hours are due for both Associate brokers and Qualifying Brokers (formerly Salespersons). The CE Shop does not offer the eight (8) hours of mandatory hours at this time.
- A minimum of twelve (12) hours in 'education' category and maximum of ten (10) hours in 'training' category. The CE Shop currently offers only fifteen (15) of the twenty-two (22) hours of electives and they are all in the 'education' category. All twenty-two (22) hours of electives may be taken in the 'education' category.
- Associate brokers licensed for the first time on or after January 1, 2009 will be required to take a Commission approved, thirty (30) hour post licensing course during their first, three-year (3) licensing cycle. The course is in addition to the thirty (30) hours of approved courses all brokers are required to complete every three years as a condition of license renewal. The CE Shop currently does not offer the thirty (30) hour post licensing course.
- The four (4) hour Qualifying Broker Refresher Course required of all active qualifying brokers must be completed as a condition of license renewal every three years. Currently, The CE Shop does not offer this course.
Immediately upon course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course completion certificate. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years should you need additional copies at a later time. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your certificates of completion or not with your renewal.
