Montana State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
School Code/Approval Number: The Montana Department of Labor and Industry: Business Standards Division issues individual course approval numbers, not school approval numbers.
Every year, twelve (12) clock hours of Real Estate Continuing Education is required.
· Licensees renew on October 31st every year.
· Four (4) of the twelve (12) hours must be mandatory topics.
Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are encouraged to retain copies of their Certificates of Completion in the event that they are audited by the state. Please refer to your renewal application to determine if you need to submit your Certificate(s) of Completion with your renewal.
Real estate course completions are recorded with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry: Business Standards Division as required once a week on Thursdays. It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours.
Please enter your individual license number correctly and fully when prompted in the registration process to ensure the reporting of your hours takes place. Montana license numbers should be five (5) digits.
