Ohio State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
The CE Shop is an approved school in Ohio: Code/Approval Number: RECE.2007000670
Every three (3) years, 30 clock hours of Real Estate Continuing Education is required.
· Licenses must be renewed every three (3) years by the licensee’s birthday.
· Of the 30 hours of continuing education, all licensees must complete nine (9) hours of core courses in the following subjects:
o Breaking Barriers: Fair Housing (3 hours) - Civil Rights/Liberties
o Navigating Ohio Agency Law (3 hours) - Core Law
o Complying with the Canon: Ohio Real Estate Licensee Ethics (3 hours) - Canons of Ethics + meets NAR Quadrennial requirement!
· There is no grading on exams per Ohio state rules.
Immediately upon real estate course completion, The CE Shop will provide students with an electronic copy of the course Certificate of Completion. Certificates will remain in your account for a minimum of five (5) years, should you need additional copies at a later time. Licensees are required to submit copies of their certificates with their renewal and compliance forms to the state. Forms and certificates sent into the state must be postmarked no later than midnight of your birthday/renewal date.
Real estate course completions are recorded with the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing each business day. It may take 2-4 business days from the time we report your hours before the Commission updates your license and/or updates their website with the hours.
Please enter your individual license number correctly and fully when prompted in the registration process to ensure the reporting of your hours takes place. Ohio license numbers should start with SAL. for salespersons and BRK. for brokers (please include any preceding zeros). Ohio license numbers should be ten (10) digits after the preceding letters and period.
